Like many of you, last week on British TV I watched and was deeply moved by "The Firefighter's Story".

I was particularly touched by Tommy Foley's story and the words of his siblings, Danny and Joanne. It underlined again for me the utter callousness of those zealots who could, without compassion or concern, fly planes into buildings, destroying thousands of lives in one foul sroke.

Tommy stands greater than the cowards who robbed him of his life ever will.

The only comfort, it seems to me is when you look at this handsome, vibrant, young man, you must remember the words of our great English poet, Lawrence Binyon: "They shall grow not old as we that are left grow old; age shall not weary them nor the years condemn; at the going down of the sun and in the morning we will remember them."

Rest in peace young man.

Just viewed 9/11 Firefighters story on TV - what a beautiful man Tom was, handsome, staggeringly sexual and a brave hard working firefighter doing his job. To quote a survivor "they were angels". I hope his memory and life continues on. Thinking of you all on another 9/11 memorial date. xxx

Another September 11th and the painful remembrance of that terrorist attack and the lives lost on that day does not diminish. My thoughts and prayers are with Tommys family, friends and loved ones. Tommy inspired all who knew him, met him only once, or who have read about his life. May his soul rest in peace. God Bless Tommy and his fallen NYFD brothers.

I admit I have only heard of Tommy Foley today, having spent time watching a few documentaries retelling the 9/11 stories from many points of view. Tommy's was one of them and he was a real American hero. You all must be so proud of him.

Tommy and I were classmates and friends at Clarkstown South. Several years after graduation we ran into each other at a grocery store in the Bronx, it turned out the fire station was just around the corner from my office. We chatted as if we had just run into each other in the hallways between classes. My thoughts and prays are with his family as well as all of those that had the privilege of knowing Tommy.

My very heartfelt prayers and thoughts are with the Foley Family on this eleventh anniversary of that fateful, infamous day; When Tommy, along with his 342 Firefighter Brothers, made the honorable Supreme Sacrifice and became Soldiers of Christ.

I know that no one will ever forget that horrific day and what America lost. We lost great men and women who were respected heroes even before they perished. Tommy and these brave souls will NEVER be forgotten. Their selfless acts of bravery in the face of death must be told for generations to come.

Tommy is the pure essence of what it means to be an AMERICAN. I know that Tommy's Spirit is still a driving force who goes on to defend God's Will around the world.

May we all learn from this man's life and his many successful accomplishments.

God's Blessings to All

My son & I met Tommy's mom, Pat, when we visited the 9/11 Memorial earlier this year. As we approach the 11th anniversary of this horrible attack, I'm thinking of Tommy's family and the loss they endured. Pat, know that your son's sacrifice is not forgotten and that you are thought of and prayed for on this day.

Tommy was a Clarkstown South classmate and friend. At our 10th reunion we had a long conversation during which he told me, with much excitement and animation, that he had his "dream job" of being a firefighter in the Bronx. Tommy told me he was proud of me for becoming a doctor, because he knew I wanted to go to medical school since junior high. I lovingly teased him about being in People's Top 50 Bachelors and the NY Firefighter calendar. We hugged and were both so happy to see each other. That's the last time I spoke to Tommy, and I miss him...

big grin Thinking of the Foley Family on Memorial Day......

In many ways, as I reflect back upon those dark days of mid-Semptember of 2001, we must also include the first Heroes of the inception of this War on Terror. It began on our own Beloved Country's soil of America.

Tommy, along with with many other first responders on the Atlantic Coast, died bravely in the capricious first battle. These Brave Souls saved countless civilians while sacrificing their own lives in the name of American Freedom.

I didn't want this Memorial Day to go by without including Tommy and his 342 Firefighter Brothers who should also be Honored for their own contribution in saving America & defending Her Freedoms. They themselves are also brave soldiers - the very first to give their lives in this war - that deserve our rememberance and respect today.

God Bless You Tommy Foley, Thank You for saving countless lives that fateful day with your brothers. I know quite well that in Angelic Spirit today, you are arm-in-arm together with all the Spirit veterans of wars past and present. Warriors in God's Great Battalion against forces of evil, you still defend what is righteous in God's Name.

GOD BLESS THE UNITED STATES OF AMERICA.

WE ARE ONE NATION INDIVISIBLE UNDER GOD!

Does not matter how much time goes by, what those brave 343 men did that day will never be forgotten. One thing people do not realize is that they do those brave acts of courage every day, but given the tragic events that took place day shed a light on what they do every single day. Takes a certain person with ice in his veins to the job but also has compassion and love in their hearts when it comes to family and friends.
We can all take a page from Tommy's life and how we can live life, LIVE IT!
Thank you Tommy and the other 342 for bringing light to so many on a dark day.

I watched it unravel, I wanted to help just like every Firefighter in the U.S. I knew someday I would be there. March 30, 2012. I visited the memorial, it was breath taking and very somber. I took photos and on one of my pictures was Thomas Foley. So when I got home I looked him up. Thank You Thomas for your Courage, Bravery, and Dedication. From Michael Dent, Captain. cheers! This is a very belated "Happy Birthday" to Mr. Tommy on January 18th. I attempted to leave a guestbook entry on your birthday, Tommy, but it was closed still.

Tommy, I know you Angels up there in Heaven laugh at us mortals down here celebrating your Earthly birth. I have learned that the real celebration begins when you are safely back Home to Christ's Loving Arms once more. But down here to us all, you are a big Hero. You will always be a celebration for your sacrifice you made to save lives.

I made a promise to you that I will always have your Memorial Foundation closest to my heart to help the kids to go to college. You have shown me times before your love of children and I will always remember.

God Blessed the Earth the day you came into it and He still Blesses us by allowing you to continue to protect us as a Guardian Angel.

I am here for you at your service always,

Tommy, myself and 1 other person had permission to hunt John Collins property on Clausland mountain. 1998 was the first time I had met Tommy. For three great years I had the pleasure of Tommy sneaking up on me and catching me by surprise. Always a big smile and a "see any good one's yet " Then he would walk away as quietly as he came. This is how I like to remember Tommy. Every year on opening day of bow season I go into the woods with no bow as that day for the last 10 years has been reserved for my friend Tommy. Happy hunting buddy and thanks for the memories.

The stories of his compassion will move you to tears. They broke the mold casting after they made this man!!

It is said that a mans's TRUE wealth is measured by the number of friends he has.........Tommy Foley IS the wealthiest man I never had the pleasure of meeting and I regret it so much.
God Bless him, his family, and friends. A lot of love is evident here!!!

I had the honor of holding a card of the American flag with Thomas J. Foley's name on it at a San Francisco Giants game on September 11, 2011. Every fan at the game that day held a card with the one of the many names of people that lost their lives 10 years ago. I wanted to know more about the person I represented. I will never forget this American hero.

Just heard about Tommy's story today - when the word legend is used nowadays it is almost done so casually. Never was there a person who deserves this title more. Thanks to his family for keeping Tommy's legacy very much alive. God bless Tommy always. RIP.

Paul Kraft and I are BEST friends, and I have kept up and with Tommy's legacy as a great friend, and such an inspirational part of your family. God Bless you all....the pain never goes away, but bearing his loss becomes a bit easier as time passes. I hope you have found peace knowing all the good he did, and the rest he now enjoys with the Lord.

To the Foly Family. My husband and I also heard Father Boyle's sermon today about Tommy. It was so moving that I had to go home and look up this page. Father CJ, the priest who found Tommy's picture, is probably one of the most caring priest that I have ever met. It's so moving that Father CJ and
Tommy came together through a picture
without a name. I am so thankful that
we got to hear and read about Tommy.
He must have been a wonderful person.
His smile and eyes radiates a beautiful
personality.

After 9-11 2001 I saw a list of names of those who passed away from the attacks. My last name is Foley and Thomas Foley jumped out to me. I wanted to know about this hero Thomas. Tonight ten years later I got on line to see if I could find info on this young man I seen on that list many years ago. I plan to buy the video. Thank you for your service Mr. Foley. God bless you and your family.

Only saw Tommy one time, in Cancun, Mexico, 1999. Went there for my 30th birthday party and there were two men, having a lot of fun in the pool. One was introducing himself to most people saying, "My name is Tom Foley, F-O-L-E-Y, Foley!" He seemed to have a zest for life and fun and did so for the three days we shared the resort with him. Two years later, my wife and I were reading a magazine (maybe People) that listed some of those who were lost on 9/11. Tom Foley was among those and we both instantly recognized him. It was his flair, laughter and vibrance that we remembered. The world is a little darker without him.
