When I went to mass today, our priest, Fr. Dan Boyle gave a sermon about Tommy. He told us how him and a friend and fellow priest, Fr. C.J. had gone to pay their respects to all that died on 9/11. While they were there Fr. C. J. looked down on the ground and saw a picture of a young fireman. He picked it up and looked at it. There was no name or writing on the picture. He put it in his pocket and brought it home with him, where he put it on his bureau. Every day for the last 10 years he has said a prayer for this young man, and hoped someday to find out who he was. About 1 year ago he was giving a sermon and showed the picture of the young man. After church a NY fireman, who was on vacation in the Berkshires, went to talk to Fr. C.J. and said he didn't know who the fireman was, but he would find out. Within days he heard from the fireman that had been in church that day and found out that the picture was of Thomas J. Foley. He contacted the family and said he would like to meet them at some time in the future. On Thursday, Fr. C.J and Fr. Dan Boyle went to see the documentary that was made of Tommy, and met the family. This was a very touching story and I just wanted to let you know how touched we all were by it.
