This past weekend, I took part in the National Fallen Firefighters Foundation 9-11 Memorial Stair Climb during FDIC. I chose to do the climb for FF Thomas J Foley. (Rescue 3) It was one of the hardest things I've done. I stood at the bottom of the last flight of stairs that lead to the memorial bell, gathered myself, and made that final flight of stairs. I took his card with his face on it off of my helmet, stared at his face, whispered, "this is for you" and rang that bell for him. With tears filling my eyes, I can say it was truly an honor and a privilege to shout his name. You, Brother, will NEVER be forgotten!

That is absolutely beautiful. I know his family is grateful for your compassion and dedication to Tommy's memory. Brings tears to my eyes too.
Our Heroes like Tommy and his 342 firefighter brothers will NEVER be forgotten. We must never let the world forget what these brave souls had to endure and face that fateful day.
We must also take solace in the fact that they are all now safe in Christ's Arms. God takes care of these souls first. They have ascended to the highest existence and now live in ecstasy with the Lord. This I know.
